The first novel is a semi autobiographical account of Mizukamíi s childhood, tell the tale of Jinen, a Buddhist monk raised by villager after his mother, a beggar, abandoned him. The another novel, no woman is williong to marry the dimunite Kisuke, a bamboo artisan, until Tamae, a prostitute, comes to pay her respect at the grave of Kisukíe s father
