The Study on Chinese Outbound Travel to Africa became the logical choice to pioneer these series for a number of strategic reasons: Chinas major contribution to the growth of international tourism is an undeniable fact. It has become the fastest growing outbound market in the world and the largest one in Asia and the Pacific region. From about 10.6 million Chinese tourists who travelled throughout the world in 2000, the number grew more than four times to reach 47.7 million in 2009.
